Welcome from the vestry at St. Mary's! We have a great love for our historic parish. The background on this page is of our recently developed Memorial Garden, which is in the cemetery. The image at right is the view of the church from the Memorial Garden. We believe that the Memorial Garden is worth a visit by itself and, of course, it is always open to visit. It is on the back side of the cemetery. Park in front of the church and you will see it toward the back on the right side.

About St. Mary's: Ours is a small (about 100 members) but active parish that has grown of late. We have an active adult education program, Kerygma, and a Sunday School with more than 20 children active, which meets three Sundays a month at 10. We frequently have 20 or more for adult education.

We are blessed to have in our midst a retired deacon, the Rev. Dr. Loring McAllister, who is also a psychologist. Dr. McAllister preaches periodically and often leads us in our 10 a.m. adult study program. His wife, Dr. Lucy McAllister, an educator, works with music and picture taking for St. Mary's. Our organist is Mr. Dean Cran, whose family has been associated with St. Mary's for several generations.

Our church program: Two worship services each Sunday; a full Sunday School and adult formation program; Sunday brunch at 10 a.m., first Sunday of the month; a Book Club which meets once a month; Acolyte and Music Clubs for the junior high set; Altar Guild; fourth of July parade in Afton; and numerous social events such as square dances, corn roasts, pie festivals, and All Saints celebration. Several committees offer members a chance to make a difference in the world. Christian love is much in evidence at St. Mary's.

Service to the Community: we maintain a stretch of Minn. 21, we support area charities, offer our facilities for various organizational meetings such as the Denmark Township Historical Society, and we contribute our part to the diocese's many social ministries.
