Reading in your Teen Bible: please read the story "Naboth's Vineyard" on page 435. It is about a page long and should make you rather angry. When you have finished, answer these questions:

6. Where was the vineyard owned by Naboth located?

7. Was Ahab's offer to Naboth reasonable?

8. Why was Naboth reluctant to sell the vinyard?

9. (challenge) How is this attitude related to the conflict in Israel and Palestine today?

10.Who was Jezebel (she appears at right here, in case you didn't notice her) and how did she seek to please Ahab, the King?

11. Did Ahab show any reluctance about the way Jezebel secured the vinyeard?

12. What prophet is sent to confront Ahab about what he and his wife had done?

13. How amazing is what Elijah says to the king, especially since the king (not like a president today) could do pretty much what he wanted?

14. What appeal is made here to a broader sense of justice that even the king must follow?

15. The justice that Elijah appeals to, how is it related to the Law of Moses and the Ten Commandments (linked to an earlier lesson)?
